Meet our members:
Kathie Harroun, Assistant Coordinator
I’m a knitter and have knitted for about 45 years. I also like to crochet, do counted cross stitch and occasionally, tat. Being a part of the Waterford Area Knitters and Crocheters keeps me focused on my knitting. I’m currently in my sock phase. I like Tofutsie sock yarn and Felici from Knit Picks. Also love the Knit Picks Options needles (metal) especially for socks using the “Magic Loop” method. Favorite blogs: Yarn Harlot andBrooklyntweed. I recently learned how to spin yarn using a drop spindle. The class was at Heritage Spinning and Weaving in Lake Orion. My day job as an Office Manager helps to support my yarn habit.
Pam Luttenberger, Coordinator
I enjoy knitting and also crochet and embroidery. As our members know-my knitting is mostly ‘squares’ for the charity knitting sites I work with. Having started this group I have learned far more by observation from other members than I could have if I’d taken knitting classes; the wonderful mix of various knitting (and crochet) skills is very helpful. I learned to knit at about the age of 8 and crochet shortly thereafter.
