Last Meeting Update – My Projects

The Squidge Cloth Dishcloth

At our last meeting I was knitting The Squidge Cloth (Missy was knitting it at the meeting before).  A very simple dishcloth pattern.  I also spoke about Knotions on-line magazine.  They are still having major computer issues, which much be as frustrating for them as for those of us wanting to view it.  Hopefully they will be resolved soon as the Winter ‘08 issue was launched on November 3rd.  Most of the time, though, the Fall ‘08 issue is available as well as the Winter ‘08 Preview.

As promised, the link to the pattern for the Berry Baby Hat.  I’ve changed the pattern a bit because my hats didn’t have that standup “swirl” the designer achieved.  So here go my changes, so far:  When placing the marker, move it over 1 more stitch to the left (for a total of 3 stitches).  Instead of K2 tog: SSK OR sl 1, k 1, psso.  Now it will “swirl”, just in the opposite direction.  I think I’ll play with it a little more to see if I can make it “swirl” the same as the original.

I’ve used Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice Baby as well as Vanna’s Choice.  My color choices, in case you were wondering:  Berrylicious & Sweet Pea, Bluebell & Sweet Pea, Terracotta & Sweet Pea, Duckie & Sweet Pea, and Fern & Kelly Green.
